KeNIC TLD was a silver sponsor at the recently held Annual Kenya Internet Governance Forum (KIGF). The annual meeting, held on the 29th of October 2020 via online webinar, brought together various stakeholders for an open and inclusive dialogue on ICT and Internet policy. There were 200 participants from various sectors such as government, private sector, technical community, academia and civil society. The outcomes of this forum fed into the Fifteenth Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum hosted online by the United Nations from  2 – 6 November 2020.

This meeting is an important knowledge sharing platform which informs and inspires policy actors in the goal of Internet sustainability for economic and social development. This year’s theme – “Internet for Human Resilience & Solidarity” – was particularly important seeing the crucial role the Internet has played during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through KeNIC’s participation and sponsorship role, we were able to position the Registry as a significant contributor to capacity building in the ICT industry and to participate actively in public policy development processes locally and internationally.

Among the notable achievements for KeNIC were:

  1. Panel speaking session
  2. Placement of KeNIC logo on all marketing collateral logo on sponsors board
  3. Social media mentions during the event
  4. Placement of KeNIC company profile on event website
  5. Running of KeNIC infomercial during the live event
  6. Opportunity to make a presentation on building value around your brand as a registry

KeNIC looks forward to participating in similar future events to increase awareness for the .KE brand and become a respectable voice in the ICT industry both locally and globally.
